How can one be both thoughtless and aware at the same time?

How can one be both thoughtless and aware at the same time?

The term ‘Nirvichaarita’ in Hindi is better understood than its English version we use often – ‘thoughtless awareness’ – sounds like an oxymoron combination.

The meaning is simple – empty you cup so that it can be filled with divine wisdom.

Our minds are restless – we have incessant thought pouring in from everywhere – from the past, present, future and even non-existent corners of the universe – a space created by our own minds!

Once we are able to stop these frivolous thoughts based on our miniscule understanding of this world, our habits, experiences and conditionings…we can delve deeper into the bliss of divine nectar. For that we need to practice ‘nirvicharita’ or ‘thoughtless awareness’ which is brought about through authentic meditation with the grace of a true spiritual master or SadhGuru. For us Sahaja yogis, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi is the guru who blessed us with the divine wisdom in the form of Sahaja Yoga.

How do people from different religions relate to Sahaja Yoga?-Episode 11

FAQs on Sahaja Yoga - Episode 11:

How do people from different religions relate to Sahaja Yoga?

All religions ultimately spoke of ‘inner awakening’ that is brought about by the practice of authentic meditation- which in turn awakens the ‘dormant spiritual energy’ within all of us. Any religion is but a set of rules and regulations basically - that would promote healthy living, unite families, cultivate moral and ethical values. Religion is important for the growth of humanity – till the time it reaches its ultimate goal – Self Realization.

From the cool breeze of the Holy Ghost (Christianity) to "That Day shall We set a seal on their mouths. But their hands will speak to us, and their feet bear witness, to all that they did. (surah 36:65 Ya-sin, (Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Qur'an) to Adishankaracharya’s Saundarya Lahri that mentioned the experience of kundalini rising and its manifestation as ”Salilam, Salilam” – all are talking about ‘Kundalini Awakening’ – and Sahaja Yoga does exactly that!

In each person, from birth, a potential spiritual energy—named Kundalini—is incorporated. This energy is our spiritual Mother. The main idea of any Yoga is Her awakening and further spiritual ascent under Her protection. But the largest problem of all was simply how to awaken Her. Many doctrines spoke about it, calling this process variously as 'self-realization,' 'second birth,' and 'Resurrection,' but no one gave the practical recipe of the embodiment of this idea.

In 1970, as a result of long searches and experience, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi made possible a method that permits any person to awaken the Kundalini energy within several minutes, to receive his self-realization, and to go on the way of spiritual ascent and perception. This method has received the name 'Sahaja Yoga'. In translation from Sanskrit 'Sahaja Yoga' means 'inborn, effortless union with the Divine": 'Sahaja' means easy, or spontaneous - it also means 'inherent, born with...'; 'yoga' - 'to connect, to reunite, connection, union'. The name itself reminds the person of potential opportunities incorporated in him at birth and of the opportunity of their realization.

FAQs on Sahaja Yoga - Episode 10 - How to get the support of in-laws not practicing Sahaja Yoga?

FAQs on Sahaja Yoga - Episode 10 - How to get the support of in-laws not practicing Sahaja Yoga?

How to get the support of relatives/in-laws who do not practice Sahaja Yoga? It is noticed that some Sahaja Yogis come across different types of obstacles/ hindrances or problems when they are trying to establish themselves in Sahaja Yoga by practicing meditation as taught in Sahaja Yoga. Sometimes the family members do not agree to let their sons/ daughters to practice this new meditation way or maybe post-marriage, the in-laws do not let the bride (esp.) practice Sahaja Yoga. They may be pious and religious but are unable to accept Sahaja Yoga.

Under such difficult circumstances, one should avoid arguments or confrontations but show them some websites or make them meet practicing Sahaja Yogis who can make them understand all about the science of spirituality as taught in Sahaja Yoga. There is a Toll-free number too that may help.

Also it is a request from parents practicing Sahaja Yoga to give a proper courtship time to both your sons and daughters when it comes to arranging their marriages esp. in a non-sahaja family. It is very difficult to adjust to lower vibrations especially when one has tasted the highest of high divine vibrations in Sahaja Yoga. Just like it becomes very difficult for a lady (daughter) to adjust to a – let’s say – a financially lesser endowed in-laws/ or miserly family – similarly, it is immensely difficult for a Sahaja Yogi to go back to ancient or archaic ways to worshipping or connecting to God!

Faqsideos – Episode 9- How to curb procrastination in Sahaja Yoga?

Faqsideos (FAQs on Sahaja Yoga Meditation) – Episode 9

How to curb procrastination in Sahaja Yoga? Procrastination is a kind of a ‘baadha’ or catch as we call it in Sahaja language. Whenever you try to progress, you will be faced with blockages. This is a test – happens all the time. In Sahaja Yoga, you are making your way towards the ‘Kingdom Of God’ – so you will face obstacles and hindrances in many forms! With meditation and certain Sahaja Yoga techniques – like Foot soaking, candling etc. we try to balance the left (Ida nadi) and the right (Pingla nadi) and come to the centre. – meaning – become balanced. We need to introspect, question ourselves as to what is stopping us from meditating?! Every individual has to solve the problem at his/her individual level – because yours is an individual journey towards the Kingdom of God! So get up and get going – don’t let petty & mundane worldly requirements stop you from achieving the highest goal of human life – Self Realization!

Faqsideos - Episode 8 : What is meant by being thoughtless or thoughtless awareness?

Faqsideos (FAQs on Sahaja Yoga Meditation) –

Episode 8 : What is meant by being thoughtless or thoughtless awareness?
It basically leads to taming of the mind. In the Bhagvad Geeta, Chapter 6, a great deal has been talked about regarding the mind. What is the mind? A repository of incessant thoughts. Arjuna: The mind is very restless, turbulent, strong and obstinate, O Krishna. It appears to me that it is more difficult to control than the wind. Lord Krishna said: O mighty-armed son of Kunti, what you say is correct; the mind is indeed very difficult to restrain. But by practice and detachment, it can be controlled. Yog is difficult to attain for one whose mind is unbridled. However, those who have learnt to control the mind, and who strive earnestly by the proper means, can attain perfection in Yog. This is my opinion. So basically, when the Kundalini rises, reaches and pierces the Sahasrara (Fontannel Bone Area or limbic area on top of head) the Sahaja Yoga practitioner can feel the downpour of divine bliss in the form of cool breeze. Thus, when one experiences the acknowledgement of the divine, he strives to experience/ feel it more and more. Automatically his incessant thoughts of worldly nature stops and he becomes thoughtless to enjoy the bliss of divinity. When one becomes thoughtless, one makes room for the divine to directly work on his instrument!

Faqsideos - Episode 7 : Can Sahaja Yoga help in personality development?

Faqsideos - Episode 7 : Can Sahaja Yoga help in personality development?

Episode 7 : Can Sahaja Yoga help in personality development?

Yes, it can help 100%!

What is the definition of personality? Your personal set of qualities make your overall personality. An individual possesses both positive and negative personality traits or qualities – so what is to be developed? – obviously the positive personality traits. What about the negative aspects of a person? Negativity needs to be erased by all means ..purged from the roots because that mostly hinders positive personal growth.

As you meditate and your chakras begin to respond to the divine vibrations, you automatically become confident and joyous! Each chakra has several qualities that begin to blossom within and you actually emerge as a beautiful personality because, after all, you have let the creator express HIS beautiful creation through you!

Faqsideos - Episode 6: Dealing with external distractions

Faqsideos - Episode 6: Dealing with external distractions

Episode 6: With so many external distractions available to people, why would anyone be interested to meditate?

Seriously you have not taken birth to just appreciate the lifestyles of others…or have you? Reading, watching, playing, working… is all fine – that’s what all of us have been doing since ages but what is the outcome of it all? Ask yourself – Are you growing? Do you feel the satisfaction as someone else is describing? What about your own happiness, satisfaction or contentment? You very own personal growth?

Meditation allows you to grow internally – nourishes your entire system – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Meditation integrates – no-meditation disintegrates….

Faqsideos – FAQs on Sahaja Yoga - Episode 5

 Faqsideos – Episode 5

Among new comers (first timers) in Sahaja Yoga, some feel the vibrations pretty well, whereas others don’t feel at all. Why?

Well, that is how it ideally should be! For example , the Pauli Exclusion Principle states that - in an atom or molecule, no two electrons can have the same set of four quantum numbers. So when 2 micro miniscule electrons are also not similar, how can you expect complex human beings made of several billion cells to have the same status or experience? And Sahaja Yoga is NOT mass mesmerization that everyone will be made or forced to feel the same way! It is a ‘living’ energy that will manifest itself according to the status of an individual’s chakras and channels – how much open or receptive they are to subtle divine energies. Thus different people have different experiences. Another example can be of electrical appliances at home and the electric supply from the mains. The supply is same but a 20 watts bulb will express itself by lighting the room a bit dimly than a 100 watts bulb, and an AC machine will suck in more electric energy to cool down the room! But there is certainly a big difference between non-living objects (bulbs & AC machines) and human beings because we, at the human level, are blessed to change our course of life and change our selves – Free Will - whenever we desire to. So even if someone does not feel vibrations on the first day, with proper meditation and certain clearing techniques that is taught in Sahaja Yoga, he/she can surely raise his status (atma-stithi) in no time. Thus it is so possible (has happened several times also) that a 5 watts bulb can lit up a room as a 1000 watts bulb…. or may even become a powerhouse of generating electricity!

Faqsideos – Episode 4 : How is Sahaja Yoga meditation different from other types of meditation?

Faqsideos – Episode 4 : How is Sahaja Yoga meditation different from other types of meditation?

How is Sahaja Yoga meditation different from other types of meditation?

Sahaja Yoga is not any physical exercise or breath control method. It is purely meditation – dhyan (as called in Hindi. It was started by the Founder, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, in the year 1970 on the 5th of May – known as World Sahasrara Day - since the Sahasrara Chakra or the 7th Chakra/ Crown Chakra of our universe was opened on this day by her. She had been very spiritually inclined since early childhood and she purposely led a very ordinary life of a householder playing the role of a dutiful wife, loving mother to two daughters and grandchildren. After taking care of her worldly duties, she was blessed with the divine grace to open the 7th chakra at Universal level because of which ‘self-realization’ or ‘Kundalini Awakening’ could be given en masse. It is a breakthrough in the spiritual awakening or spiritual evolution. Earlier, self realization or kundalini awakening could happen to rare few people because humanity was yet to be ready to receive this tremendous divine power. As it is said by Her Holiness – Truth can be borne only by those who have the capacity to bear it. Truth is God. So with Sahaja Yoga meditation, you connect directly with your creator without any intervention of a thirst party. You become your own master….leading very ordinary lives.

FAQs on Sahaja Yoga - Why should people already worshiping God be interested in Sahaja? Episode 3

FAQs on Sahaja Yoga - Why should people already worshiping God be interested in Sahaja?
Episode 3

Should people who are religious minded and have a lot of faith in God also know about Sahaja Yoga or even practice it? It is the believers of God and religion who have brought about all progressive social changes and evolutions! Religion was basically established to engage people in team work – and team work means a proper set of rules and regulations for greater good. (Bahujan Hitaye, Bahujan Sukhaye). In fact being religious is being more scientific and practical. But unfortunately, somehow religion got linked to superstitions and impractical dogmas – hence many people started to get away from religion or believing in higher forces or divine power. Sahaja Yoga, in fact, would be a giant leap towards spiritual evolution – because it is in Sahaja Yoga that we not only think about God and imagine ways to please Him but we get the practical experience of His acknowledgement in the form of cool breeze!! It is practiced in over 120 countries by people from all walks of life irrespective of caste/color/creed/country/religion/ financial status/ designation-power-position bar! Is it not already so evident that only the great DIVINE Power is capable of some such miracle? Where Australians, Americans, Africans…doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs are already engaged in chanting hyms in praise of Shri Mataji – where is the doubt? So from our side – we can only recommend people to have an open mind and try out Sahaja Yoga once. Eligibility? Pure heart, pure desire, seeker of truth.

FAQSIDEOS - FAQs + Videos on Sahaja Yoga- Episode 1, What is the correct age to start meditation?

FAQSIDEOS - FAQs + Videos on Sahaja Yoga

We are starting a new Web Series that will cover the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on Sahaja Yoga

In this episode the question is: What is the correct age to start meditation?

Many parents show their concern when Sahaja Yoga Meditation is introduced in schools including primary section - i.e. between the age group of 6 to 10 years old students as well.

The answer is very simple folks -
What if I ask you:
What is the correct age to start breathing?
What is the correct age to start eating?
What is the correct age to start digesting?
What is the correct age to start excreting?
Surprised?

Well, Sahaja Yoga just teaches us about the Subtle System present within us since our birth. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation, we are able to harness our own 'Inner Energy' - harness the subtle divine energies we are born with! SO there is no age/caste/creed/ religion/ethnicity /color/financial status/country bar to practice Sahaja Yoga!

Listen to explaining us about the Bhramarandra (limbic or fontanelle bone area) on top of the head of an infant when he is just born - it is very soft and in connection with the divine already...which later gets calcified with age and conditionings.....and we lose touch with divinity...it is a journey back to our roots!

In fact, the sooner we start activating our 'Spiritual' selves, the better it is for us - there have been several instances among Sahaja Yogies where their 'very average academic performer child' suddenly started to pass exams with flying colors, showed greater focus and attention in both studies and sports and extra curricular activities!
Dear Ones.....you are tapping the divine energy - only positive, dynamic, good and progressive things can happen to you - Don't worry!!
